Chicago Auto Show

On Wednesday I went to the Chicago Auto Show bright and early to help Dave S. from Motorweek out with taking some photos. He presented a few company heads with their Drivers' Choice award. Buick, Chevy and Ram won the awards, you can find those photos on their Facebook page. In my spare time I got some shots with the new cars. Check them out!

Bentley Gold Coast

Today I went over to the Bentley Gold Coast, the exotic car dealership downtown. This is one of the BEST places to see and admire exotic cars. I took the chance to take some photos for everyone. At Gold Coast they have some of my favorite cars ever made, take a look...

The showroom offers dozens of different exotic models from a dozen makers. Any exotic manufacture that you can come up with has probably been through the Gold Coast doors.

The people at Bentley Gold coast have captured the beauty and brilliance of these cars without taking them to a race track. The design of the building that these cars rest compliments the modern styling and exclusivity while keeping them all accessible to the public.

I Don't Wanna Grow Up, I'm a Lazy a** Kid

All through my younger years the idea of what I was going to be doing when I "grew up" was pretty abstract. The idea that I will get older, get a job and have a family was so abstract and weird that I didn't think that is was possible. I had always thought that all ages of people were static in their ages and would never get older and always be around. The past two years of my life, since I have been in college have changed my perception about aging and life in general.
Ever since I stepped foot onto DePaul University's campus in 2007 I have taken my class schedule and things that I do relating to my career very seriously. The courses that I have taken have been imperative to my ascension to my graduation and I have not wasted time lollygagging on the subject.
This passed summer I made a clear set of goals that I wanted to accomplish for my career for the following summer. I have been doing Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore for three years now and if nothing had worked out I could have always spent time doing that. However, things took a turn for the better and actually got quite exciting.
I had collected and e-mailed dozens of car dealers, car collectors, car tuners and car photographers from Chicago and back home in Baltimore and got no responses. Realizing my desperate need for an internship and my desire to become involved in the Auto-Industry, my uncle Rick reminded me that MotorWeek http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/ (a car show focusing on test drives and reviews of new cars) was filmed in Owings Mills, Maryland, only 40 minutes from where I live!

I immediately went online, found about four e-mails and contacted all the people with the subject reading "Internship Please!" In this e-mail I provided not only my knowledge and appreciation of cars in general, but showed my unbridled passion for the drivers car and how much it would mean to me to intern with them for one summer. The following three weeks were possibly the most important in my career.
The next morning I found an e-mail responding to my interest with interning with MotorWeek. Mr. Roberts was very happy to find me interested in helping out and asked if we could have a phone interview. Two days later he called me and I drove home the fact that I would be a great intern and that my passion and love for autos would really make a difference for the company. That phone call he told me I had the job!!

I'm excited about my experience with auto testing and I hope I learn a lot from it and make a lot of great connections. It will be a dream come true to experience first hand road testers doing what I love watching and hopefully love to do myself!

Here's an exciting road test for a 2009 Corvette ZR1:
